Joining Hands with Purpose

In February of 2007, four families in the Grand Prairie area did a bold and daring thing---they considered starting a new ministry!  With hands clasped firmly together, the small, visionary group proverbially "jumped off the cliff" as one.

The centerpiece of their effort was based on a single, shared conviction: that God would honor the sincerity and rightfulness of their intentions. "But did He?" you may ask.  In unison, we say "Yes!"

Summit Baptist Church now has a beautiful sanctuary in which to worship.  We reach out to the elderly in our area through a vibrant  nursing home ministry.  We have a "food" ministry where our members prepare and take food to families in crisis.  And our men gather monthly to do projects of various kinds for those in our congregation and community.  And thankfully, we are witnesses to the testimonies of people whose lives have been tangibly and  spiritually revitalized  because of our work and ministry.

As we peer into the future, we are certain of only one thing:  The God who calls us to faith continues calling us into the deeper waters of knowing and serving Him.  We are assured of success as long as we keep holding hands, trusting in God to sustain our collective grip.
